Get Hydrological Data

General Information for release of Hydrological Data

  • The request (in Hydrological Data Request Form and "Secrecy Undertakings") for release of Hydrological Data may be addressed to the concerned field Chief Engineer of Central Water Commission. (official addresses of field formations of Central Water Commission) A brief about the methodology, purpose, geographical study area and duration of the concerned work/study should be provided along with the Data Request Form.
  • The hydrological datamay be released by the concerned Chief Engineer of Central Water Commission to the Central/State Government Departments/ Organizations, Academic Institutions and Research Organizations of India for use for specific purpose after ascertaining its legitimacy/justification.
  • After examination as above, the Central/State Government Departments/ Organizations, Academic Institutions and Research Organizations of India would be informed about the postal/media charges, if any, to be paid by them by the concerned field formation of Central Water Commission (under intimation to Member (RM) , CWC alongwith copy of data request letter).

Govt of Gujarat has signed MoU on 7th January 2019 with Central Water Commission and CWPRS at Gandhinagar for Implementation of Coastal Management Information System (CMIS) in the State.


Chairman, Central Water Commission handed over Emergency Action Plan document of Hirakud Dam to Principal Secretary, Odisha Water Resources Department on January 10 , 2019 at Rajiv Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. The EAP has been prepared under DRIP to act as model document for other Dam owners.
