Central Water Commission
Sh. S K Haldar, Member(WP&P), Central Water Commission has done graduation in Civil Engineering from Govt. Engineering College, Jabalpur in the year 1983 and joined Central Water Engineering(CWE) Group ‘A’ Service (Central Water Commission) on 13th June 1985 as an Assistant Director.
He has worked in various capacities in Central Water Commission, Bansagar Control Board, Narmada Control Authority and Farakka Barrage Project. He worked in various capacities in CWC in various fields such as Civil and Structural Design of WRD Projects, Survey & Investigation and preparation of DPR such as preparation of DPR of Sone Valley Projects, Water Supply Schemes in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Pre-feasibility Report of Manas-Sankosh-Teesta Link Canal, DPR of Medium Irrigation Projects of Tripura, DPR of Kamlang & Sissiri Multipurpose Projects in Arunachal Pradesh., Pre-construction activities of WR Projects, Hydrological Observation, Flood Forecasting, Monitoring and Appraisal of Projects. He worked in Hydrology Study Organization at various levels for about 28 years. He also worked as General Manager, Farakka Barrage Project, looking after administration & human resources management of the organization besides Operation and Maintenance of Farakka Barrage Project Complex prior to the assignment of Member (WP&P).
He has undergone training on Design of High Earth and Rockfill Dams at USBR, USA, Denver during July 1989 to September 1989. He is life time member of Indian Water Resources Society (IWRS), Indian Society for Rock Mechanics and Tunneling Technology (ISRMTT) and Indian Society of Earthquake Technology (ISET). He has taken over as Member (WP&P) in CWC on 17th September 2018.
