Welcome To Yamuna Basin Organization, Delhi

Yamuna Basin Organisation (YBO) is one of the thirteen regional organisations of the Central Water Commission. It is a field unit of the River Management (RM) Wing. The organisation is headed by a Chief Engineer and consists of two field Circles (Hydrological Observations at Vaishali, Ghaziabad and Planning at Faridabad,Haryana) each headed by a Superintending Engineer , one Monitoring and Appraisal Directorate at Jaipur and one Nepal & Bhutan Co-ordination Directorate, at New Delhi, each headed by a Director.The organisation is responsible for collection, compilation, storage and retrieval of hydrological and hydrometeorological data including water quality monitoring, formulation and issue of flood forecast on Yamuna River and inflow forecasts for selected important reservoirs, river morphology studies. Monitoring and Appraisal Directorate of the organisation deals with techno-economic appraisal of medium irrigation projects received from the Rajasthan State Government, this includes Monitoring of schemes under Centrally Sponsored Command Area Development (CAD) Programme, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna (PMKSY), Revival and Restoration of Water Bodies, etc.
