- Technical scrutiny/appraisal of basic planning and irrigation planning aspect including economic viability of major irrigation and multipurpose water resources development project including modernization projects of States other than covered by IP(North).
- Examination of water availability aspect of hydel, thermal and other power projects and water balance studies and feasibilities report prepared by NWDA of states other than covered by IP(North).
- Nodal directorate for beneficiaries Participation Programme and studies for assessing the irrigation benefits.
- Promotion among stakeholders the use of e-tool like CROPWAT for estimation of crop water requirement as per cropping pattern practiced/proposed in command area.
- Secretariat work of Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) headed by Member (WP&P), CWC constituted by MoWR, RD & GR for completion of balance works of North Koel Project, Bihar & Jharkhand.
