Teesta Basin Organization at a glance

Central Water Commission is a premier technical organization of India in the field of Water Resources and is presently functioning as an attached office of the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India. In order to achieve better results in the water resource sector and have better co-ordination with the State Government Departments, CWC has established thirteen regional offices called field organizations, each headed by a Chief Engineer. Narmada Basin Organisation (NBO) is one of the thirteen regional organizations of the Central Water Commission. It is a field unit of the River Management(RM) Wing.

  • The organization is headed by a Chief Engineer who is assisted by the Superintending Engineer (Co-ordination), Director (Monitoring), Director (Mon & Appraisal) and Director, Punasa Design Dte.
  • The jurisdiction of NBO covers the Catchment area of Narmada River and its tributaries in the States of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
