Smt K.Rekha Rani, Deputy Director, M&A (TS)

Smt. K.Rekha Rani an IIT Bombay Alumni is presently posted as Deputy Director, at Monitoring & Appraisal Directorate, Telangana. She is currently looking after the Monitoring & Appraisal of Projects of Telangana State under various schemes such as Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Program (AIBP), Command Area Development and Water Management Program (CADWM), Repair, Rennovation and Restoration (RRR). She was a Technical Member for Jal Shakti Abhiyan Team to Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh. She has over 10 years of experience in various capacities at Central Water Commission.

In the Hydrology Directorate of Central Water Commission, she was looking after Techno-economical appraisal of the Pre feasibility Reports and Detailed projects Reports of Water resources projects of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan along with Dam Rehabilitation studies and Water Balance studies.

During her work at the regional field office, Krishna & Godavari Basin organization, she was monitoring all the activities related to establishment of new Hydrological Observation Sites, Flood forecasting sites and Telemetry sites on Krishna Rivers and Godavari Rivers. During this tenure she gained experience in GIS, and Mike 11. Being a divisional head she also looked after the administrative matters, financial matters of Lower Krishna Division along with issuing flood forecasting for sites under Krishna River. In Krishna River Management Board, she looked after the water allocation among the two riparian states  Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

She worked in Hydel Civil Designs Directorate where the problem of sickle plate failure of Srisailam Dam has been dealt. Under her guidance, the Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS) was used to detect the stresses at various locations of sickle plate which might have lead to the failure.

She was nominated as Lady Welfare officer of Central Water Commission and as Chariperson of Internal complaints committee of Central Water Commission for Protection of Women against Sexual Harrasment at Workplace. She was a lady Member of the Placement committee formed for transfer & Postings of Group B officers. She was instrumental for bringing up the first Regional Website for Krishna & Godavari Basin organization during the year 2010.
