MTBO (Mahi & Tapi basin Organization) is one of the 14 regional offices of CWC with headquarters at Gangdhinagar, Gujarat. Hydrological Observation and Flood Forecasting activities in the west flowing important rivers at stations located in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, U.T. of Daman and Diu & Dadra Nagar Haveli are carried out by MTBO, MTBO is also entrusted with techno-economic appraisal of medium water resources projects and monitoring of major and medium projects located in Gujarat. MTBO, CWC is also involved in establishment of sites for collection of coastal data under Coastal Management Information System (CMIS). MTBO, CWC also carries out morphological studies for Tapi river.
