Arifulla Baig, Deputy Director, National Water Academy is a 1981 batch CWES Officer. He joined as Junior Engineer at CWC, Medapalli Maharashtra State under Wainganga Division, CWC, Nagpur in October 1986. He is Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) from SIT, Tumkur, Karnataka.
During his tenure in Central Water Commission, he has worked in various capacities viz. Junior Engineer to Deputy Director.
Nature of work handled include Hydrological Observation, Maintenance of the Sub Division and sites under the Sub Division and collecting the Hydrological Data, Formulating the Flood Forecasting bulletins and pass on to user agencies, Interlinking of rivers and other works of NWP Directorate, Monitoring and Appraisal of Irrigation Projects in Andhra Pradesh, DDO functions at M&A Directorate, CWC, Hyderabad, Maintenance of Division and Flood Forecasting of Krishna and Pennar Basins, DDO and also a core faculty at NWA. Designing and conducting training programs and also delivering lectures during other training programs at NWA, floating of tenders, monitoring Administration and Coordination Wing of NWA.
He underwent national programs organized by various organizations. During the year 2015, he was selected as one of the Members of the Indian Team for Joint Hydrological Observations at Harding Bridge (Bangladesh) during the period from 17.02.2015 to 14.04.2015.
His duties in National Water Academy include functioning as DDO and also coordinate and conduct the training programs viz. Orientation Programs for AD-II/ SDEs of CWC and other related programs.
His fields of expertise include Flood Forecasting and Hydrological Data and formulation of flood forecasting bulletins and expertise in observing the discharge measurements by ADCP.
